Getting Started: Company Onboarding

Set up your company in Redovix from scratch — company details, address, country, accounting method, and financial year.

Steps

  1. Welcome to Redovix — let's set up your company
  2. Enter your company name and contact details
  3. Enter your business address
  4. Choose your country — Ethiopia unlocks local tax features
  5. Select your accounting method and financial year start
  6. Review your details and finish setup

Every Redovix company starts with a short onboarding wizard, and it's the only screen in the app you'll only ever see once per company. Get it right the first time and the rest of the setup — chart of accounts, currency, tax behavior — follows from it automatically.

What onboarding actually decides

Two choices here have consequences beyond this screen. The first is country: selecting Ethiopia is what unlocks the Ethiopia-specific features covered elsewhere in these tutorials — the Tax Center field, real progressive PAYE payroll brackets, pension contribution calculations, and the Ethiopia VAT Return report. Pick a different country and those screens simply don't appear; there's nothing to toggle back on later except re-running onboarding on a fresh company.

The second is your financial year start and accounting method, which set the boundaries every report (trial balance, balance sheet, VAT return) will be calculated against from that point forward. Currency follows the same rule — it defaults sensibly for your country, but confirm it before finishing, since line-item pricing throughout the app is entered in this currency.

Tips

  • If you're setting up a coffee export business, import/export trading company, or anything invoicing in a foreign currency, double-check the currency step even if the default looks right.
  • The company name and address you enter here appear on every printed invoice and report, so it's worth getting the formatting (line breaks, legal suffix) right now rather than editing it later.
  • Selecting Ethiopia doesn't require finishing the Tax Center selection immediately — that's covered in the next tutorial — but the field will be mandatory before you can save an invoice once VAT reporting is turned on.

Once you finish, you land straight on the dashboard with an empty ledger — the next tutorials cover setting your organization's tax details, then adding the customers, vendors, and items you'll actually transact against.
